Terri Winiarski is the paralegal to Catherine S. Hendrix and joined the Lester and Hendrix team in September of 2012. Her duties at the South Carolina family law firm of Lester and Hendrix, LLC, include: corresponding with clients, opposing attorneys, judges, and court personnel; meeting with clients, opposing attorneys and their staff members, judicial staff, and court personnel by telephone and office conferences concerning case status and settlements; preparing any pleadings, motions, orders, agreements, and other documents assigned to her; scheduling depositions, hearings, pre-trial conferences, and status conferences with the Court; assisting at trial; and general office duties.
Terri Winiarski received a B.A. degree in Education from the University of Cincinnati in 1993 and enjoyed a brief teaching career in Northern Kentucky. During her years as a teacher, Ms. Winiarski was selected as the District Support Network Leader for the portfolio assessment program, which was an innovative part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA). Ms. Winiarski also conducted district teacher in-services as a second-year teacher and participated on the Professional Development Committee to monitor faculty and staff compliance with the district’s continuing education requirements.
Ms. Winiarski obtained her paralegal certificate from Midlands Technical College.
In 2005, Ms. Winiarski relocated to South Carolina where she studied court reporting through a mentorship. Ms. Winiarski obtained her national verbatim reporter certification from the National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA) in March of 2007. From 2008-2009, she served as treasurer for the South Carolina Court Reporter’s Association (SCCRA). Ms. Winiarski worked as a freelance court reporter for six years.
She began her career as a paralegal at the Davis Frawley law firm in Lexington, South Carolina. While at Davis Frawley, LLC, Ms. Winiarski worked primarily in domestic law, as well as criminal defense and personal injury law. Ms. Winiarski worked briefly as an office manager for a small nuclear safety consulting firm, managing and administering all aspects of business office operations in Tennessee.
Amie Barr Stevens is the paralegal to Rebecca P. Creel. She is originally from Myrtle Beach where she started working on her MBA, which she obtained in 2012. Mrs. Stevens also has an undergraduate degree from Coastal Carolina University. She worked formerly for Pincus Family Law where she was the office manager until she started her own business as an Organizational Specialist and Editor.
Ms. Stevens joined Lester and Hendrix, LLC, in 2013 and has taken on duties that include corresponding with clients, opposing counsel, judges and court personnel; meeting with clients, attorneys and their staff members; coordinating new client intake; preparing pleading, motions, orders, agreements and other documents; scheduling depositions, hearings, pretrial and status conferences with court and general office duties.
William Koontz is the paralegal to Ken H. Lester. His responsibilities include: corresponding with clients, attorneys, Guardians ad Litem, judges and court personnel; meeting with clients, opposing attorneys and their staff members, judicial staff and court personnel by telephone and conferences, concerning case status and settlements; preparing pleadings, motions, orders, agreements and other business or client related communications assigned to him; scheduling depositions, hearings, mediations, and conferences with the Court; assisting at trial; and general office duties
Originally from Kamloops, British Columbia, William Koontz moved to the South to attend Davidson College. There, he managed the student IT division and graduated in 2012 with a B.A. degree in English. That same year, he moved to Columbia, South Carolina, and began working at Pincus Family Law as a member of the attorney support staff. After the founding attorney was elected to the Family Court Judiciary and closed her firm, William began work in the South Carolina Judicial System as a legal assistant to the Honorable Michelle M. Hurley. William joined Lester and Hendrix, LLC, in October, 2015.
Ms. Wiggins is the Office Manager and paralegal for James D. Harkey. Ms. Wiggins obtained her B.A. degree from the University of South Carolina in Business Administration and her J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1986. Ms. Wiggins worked as a paralegal in Columbia, South Carolina, for many years prior to attending law school. She practiced in the family courts of South Carolina as a guardian ad litem before her move from the State.
Ms. Wiggins grew up in Columbia and recently returned to the area after spending some time in Anchorage, Alaska, where she managed a large civil construction company and worked as a project manager in the oil and gas industry.
Ms. Wiggins’ duties include the administrative day-to-day operations of the firm as well as paralegal duties for Mr. Harkey.
Beverly Poston is the receptionist at Lester and Hendrix, LLC. Her responsibilities include greeting clients and general office duties.
She is originally from South Carolina. Ms. Poston holds a B.A. degree from the University of South Carolina. She previously served as the office manager and legal assistant for John Gregg McMaster at Tompkins and McMaster. Ms. Poston joined Lester and Hendrix, LLC, in 2014.
Kenneth Lester is the office assistant in the financial department of Lester and Hendrix, LLC. Kenneth has been with Mr. Lester since 1994 and is a native of South Carolina.
